1. Where can I learn more about the procedures for transfering data?

Informe has developed a training site at

 http://www.informe.org/bmv/rapid-renewal/town-admin

Select “Municipal Date Transfer Session” to view the training.

2. How is this associated to the Rapid Renewal process I do?

There is no change to your Rapid Renewal process or files.  All that processing stays unchanged.  This process is to replace the need to insert the 3.5" disks to load your registration data from BMV and to write to the 3.5" disks to send your registration data and reports to BMV.

3. If I need to make a correction and I have sent my file to BMV, how do I still correct a record?

Go ahead and make the correction on the registrations as you previously would. The BMV will make the corrections as soon as they get your paperwork.

4. I'm a TRIO user, what is the process I use to upload to InforME?

Towns need to do everything the way that they did before, including the Disk - Create/Verify/Report option. As far as the users are concerned, all that has changed is that instead of sending the file to a floppy disk, the system now sends the file to the folder that they specify on their computer or the network.

The new version of the software may have a subdirectory where the reports and nnnnnIN.DAT are being saved. For some towns this may be the BMVReports directory/file.

5. I'm a TRIO user and can't find my file to upload. I'm looking in my TrioData file.

You will need to go into the Motor Vehicle program and select File Maintenance > Customize and look at the bottom of the screen there to see what the path is for where the files are being saved to. The files will initially save the report files to the data folder, but then copy them to the selected location - that's where they want to look for those files.

6. I'm a TRIO town, what if I want to upload my data daily? What do I need to do?

You would need to do a closing each day and provide a check and reports for each day.  There are some towns doing this but you are not required to do it.

7. I'm a TRIO town, what if I want to upload my data daily? What do I need to do?

You would need to do a closing each day and provide a check and reports for each day.  There are some towns doing this but you are not required to do it.

8. What if I send my nnnnnIN.DAT file and reports and then have a correction?

Continue to make the corrections to your reports and registrations/whites as you would have in the past. The BMV office will continue to review these for any changes.

9. Sometimes my voids and regs take a while or seem to get missed in getting posted to the file for the police.

When your file is posted to the InforME site by 4PM, the police will have access to that information by midnight. Any correction to your registrations will be done when your reports and registrations are received at BMV.
